Had a Fishers of Men tournament this weekend, had a North wind blowing 20+mph and we knew everyone was going to be stacked in the east-west cuts back in coves. During pre-practice the week before we had found the right kind of bass 4+lbers, but come tournament day the wind was blowing right into those areas!
First instincts were to get inline and not deal with the wind, but we wanted to go BIG so we fished our area.
It paid off, we ended up throwing our Booyah poppin’ pad crashers on windy points and at the end of the day weighed in 22.65lbs and big bass at 6.25lbs for the Win!
Here was our set up for the day
Rods: TFO GTS 7’9 XH perfect rod for frogging
Reels: Ardent Apex Grand 7.3.1
Line: Power Pro 65 braid, and 12 lbs Silver Thread
Lures: Booyah Poppin’ pad crasher, YUM Dinger in Green Pumpkin
Just wanted to thank Booyah and Ardent for allowing me to be apart of these great products!
